“The Last Gasp Spasm Band is the only authentic Jug Band in the UK. The band features some of finest Blues and Roots performers around, consisting of Jim Murray and Peter Mason, better known as The Hokum Hotshots, alongside Lee Bates and Billy Newton; another excellent Blues duo from the Northeast. Joining them on Jug is the wonderful Michael ‘Fruit-Lips’ Watson.” - from their website, which includes video: and there's more video of them here |
5.30pm – 7.00pm: Zacc Rogers “I like to play as many different styles as I can get away with, at the moment I think my music is a mixture of rock’n’roll ska, bluesy soul with a good amount of foot stomping thrown in for good measure. I like to use quite a few open tunings to add different textures to my music I sometimes use a sampling pedal so that for some songs I can record live beat box type rhythms and lay down bass lines and guitar to incorporate in songs / I write a lot of my own songs but have just recently started incorporating covers into my set so that depending on the audience I can play a set of my own material, a set of covers or quite often a mixture of them both.” – read more at his own website video samples: a faster one or a slower one and some audio samples |
